Thanks to Shannon McKeldon, I found a way to get free wifi at Starbucks. You just have to load five bucks on your card and register it. If you show movement on the card monthly you can get two hours of free wifi a day. This is both good (yay, free wifi) and bad, because if I can browse the Internet, I don't write near as much.
I only wrote 1800 words in three hours yesterday during my writing time. Boo, hiss, boo. Usually I can write several thousand. On the up side, I only have about 8000 to go. I have a couple of plot snarls to straighten out, but am confident I can have the manuscript done by my deadline which is the end of Feb.
I am nearing that ending point and I am having trouble with not revealing enough to make the MC's motivations clear. This is what my CP's have been saying. This bugged me because there is a scene which is important to the character arc that would lose emotional impact if I revealed too much. A fine line to walk. So I am going to use flashbacks in order to keep the voice immediate and just show enough to reveal more to the reader without losing the emotional intensity. This will also add word count. YAY! Word count is good.
I've been a bad blogger because I haven't been able to read and comment as much as I used to, but best beloveds, I have been BUSY! Will try to catch up over the weekend.
MUAH!

Totally understand the busy bit.
And yes, sometimes WiFi is a curse.
Good stuff - only 8000 to go. Best of luck, Teri! ;)
Congrats on having the end in sight! :)
