Nails, eyebrows and hair, oh my...

When you are feeling blue, nothing says love like a new hair cut, a mani, and getting your eyebrows waxed. It spells self love, people, and though my dh doesn't understand it (or the money involved) I certainly do.

Yesterday, in the interest of self love, I also made myself a cake. Now for me, that's a pretty risky way to indulge because my record with from scratch cakes is sketchy at best. Okay, some of them have required an exorcism to get rid of, but I was brave and went forth.

It turned out beautifully. The Writing Gods and the Cake Gods all smiled on me yesterday and I ate a magnificent peice of cake while reading my good review.

It doesn't make me forget, but it does help.

If there is a gun sitting on a table in act 1, you better use before the end of the play...

So, where is the haircut pic? ;-)

(P.S. I love cake.)

Good for you for treating yourself, Teri! And congratulations on a great review! I've got the book reserved on my Amazon list. Can't wait for it!

The cake gods are good too!
And ditto on the haircut pic. Update your profile!

Ouch!! If you needed makeover attention and cake, it must've been rough. I hate my job — my shoulders should have been there for you to cry on.

God will watch over the girls. He HAS to, because good moms everywhere won't allow anything less.

Yay for cake! I have a wonderful from-scratch cake recipe. It's a basic recipe, but you can dress it up as you need to. If you want it, let me know and I'll send it to you.

So true about the self-love. I need to do that more. I do the cake way too often though! :)

You made cake and you didn't even bring me a piece. Instead, you brought me your son...yesterday was indeed a day of self love!

After spending 30 gruelling hours at airports and on a plane recently, I greeted my husband and our 2.5 year old tearily (I'd just spent two weeks in Australia without them) then went to bed.

A few days later my son went to nursery school and my husband went back to work.

And I had a facial. I had the mother of all facials and was in heaven! Nothing said self-love to me more than that facial. It sped up the jet lag recovery.

Loving your blog.
